Maxi pro crimped fittings vs brazed joint

Hi I just wondered what. Folk thought about maxi pro fittings.
i was using some the other day.
as we were very short of time ( too busy)
and did like the fact that no hot works was needed . And did not need to get. Oxy bottles out or purge nitro
The joints are all accessible , I guess they would not make them if they were rubbish

Used it on one job that had a ban on hot work. I was impressed by the speed and ease of fitting. You can get 5 year guarantee if you attend the training day. Good tool.

Thanks for the reply as you say quick and easy. And good for a hot work ban.
i did not know about the. Five year guarantee if you go on the course.
its not a cheap thing for us in jersey to attend a course in the uk
    As the flights are expensive
And I would need a hotel too.
i wonder if they would come to jersey for promotional training session.

I wanted to resurrect this thread to see if any more companies have used the Maxi Pro crimping tool. We’ve never really jumped onto the crimping band wagon but have had to use them recently and they’ve been fine, much quicker than braising and holds the pressure well.

My worry is 12 months after they’ve been used.

We’re looking at using them on a 55 fan coil job that we’ve recently won but we’re still unsure.

I've had a demo and they look well made they have there place ie hot works lack of carbon build up during braising speed and possible not a vast amount of knowledge to use them my down sides are the cost of fittings compared to using a hillmoor or bender and the rubber o ring inside the fitting that's my biggest concern 12 months five years no problem but 7 years 10 years down the line it may be a different story
I tried the alloy pipe that did not go well luckily I tried on one install first so it will be interesting to sea outcome but unless I can't have a hot works I will stick to braising at mo

I have been using. A few more of these crimped fittings but only where totally. Accessible.
ive been. Installing. Ac in houses lately and. Braze every thing , mind you hot works is not a issue as. You can find a. Chap welding. Metal onsite .
and all pipe work is. Burried in ceilings. And walls .
time. Will tell but they are a well made fitting .
i don't know what te problem is. With oxy acetylene , we are long past. Turning up to a job with perished hoses and. Broken regulators and worn out kit however. I do understand no hot works in a. Care home or hospital for example.
