Refrigerant Phase is liquid receiver - when shut off

What would be the refrigerant phase when the system is off? I have seen the pressure on both sides equalizes after sometime (after shut off) at around 150psig. At this point, will refrigerant stay as liquid in the receiver? Wouldn't it be spread through out the system? If Yes, wouldn't it defeat the purpose of receiver at the first place?

    .

    The refrigerant would be saturated.

Just the same as if it was in a cylinder and yes eventually the
refrigerant would equalise throughout the whole system. If there
are solenoid valves fitted then the equalisation would be slower
but it would equalise never the less.
