American style BBQ
An American style (Oklahoma) BBQ my son made from a scrap air pressure tank and a propane tank

The red smokestacks are a bit over the top, but you are not far off from making a good smoker/barbecue grill. I paid more attention to your shop than I did to the barby. Putting the device together (nice job, by the way) and delivering the goods, are two entirely separate matters. I am talking about how you cook, and what you cook.
American style... what are the other styles?

Re: American style BBQ
He was cleaning up our shop in the weekend and found the large air pressure vessel in a corner.
He also had the second small burner vessel and suddenly, the cleaning was finished.
It's the first time he welded something, so I can say he did a very nice job.
He found the drawings on the internet.
He spend some Sunday afternoons and the hours after working in the evenings to make it all.
The heat resistant paint was the most expensive part, almost all the other things were taken from scrap or things we already had in our shop.
He made it just for the fun so that his friends can use it.
Some already asked if he can make another one for them.
Dan, once it's finished (and I have some spare time and it becomes a little bit colder, and I don't have to help with my wife and spłome other reasons ....), we will continue cleaning.
But I don't like very clean shops at all. This mostly says that there's too much time to clean it all and someone is paying this.Last edited by Peter_1; 13-06-2006 at 09:48 PM.

I had a co-worker who had a messy desk and a sign on it that said "If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, then what is an empty desk a sign of?

Re: American style BBQ
Now then Dan, you could turn that around
A Clean desk v a Dirty desk
A Tidy desk v a untidy desk
and so on
You could also say a Busy desk LOL

Re: American style BBQ
Now you need a couple of briskets, some pork ribs and some chickens. What wood do you use to smoke the meat? I am partial to hickory, but do use some oak, pecan and mesquite wood.
You might want to check the weight on the pit as your axles and tires look a bit on the light side if you plan to trailer it much.
Come on over to Texas and we can do a proper initation on your pit.

Re: American style BBQ
Sorry Pijlke,.
Yes, I see him every day.
He started with this
http://bbq.netrelief.com/pits/metalp..._bbq_pit.shtml
mixed it with http://www.diamondplateproducts.com/index.php
and http://www.bigjim.freeservers.com/smokers.html
and finally it became this one
http://www.compuvices.com/smoker.shtml and http://www.compuvices.com/plans/Smoker%20Plans.pdf
which had exactly the same dimensions as our tanks. It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
