Tool for flexible duct
Have you also troubles if you want to fit a flexibel duct on a rigid tube?
The duct allways bends in an unwanted direction, especially when working above your head.
A wholesaler now has a neat piece to help wth this

What's the cost Peter? Do you have to leave them in place, so buying one for every connection?

Re: Tool for flexible duct
You need a new one for each connection.
But I haven't tried it yet if you can slide it a little bit deeper once installed and remove it again by bending it the opposite way.
Will try this once.
Price for 160 = +/- 2 €, 200 = +/- 2.6 € 125 = +/- 1.65 €It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Well, this piece started me thinking about something else....making some sort of lightweight expander for the ducts.

No doubt someone has already made a reusable model but found it more profitable to sell a 'one-shot' unit.

Hi Peter
I've not seen these in the UK so far - any chance you could e-mail a contact number? It may be a little money spinner.

We buy it at a wholesaler in Bruges www.airflux.be.
I heard it's coming from The Netherlands, there are no markings on the item. It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Re: Tool for flexible duct
If it doesn't require a lot of force to keep it open, I use a piece of spring steel which will want to lay flat when not in use. I just bent up the two ends so as to make a "squeezing point" but you could spot weld a couple of tabs on it i guess. Don't know where to get it in Europe but McMaster Carr has it in the U.S.
