Machining or parts like keyway in coupling hub, how it's done

Sometimes new coupling hubs required for new or old jobs.
Most have keyway to be machined out after boring hub.
Machine shop we use says they will "Hot wire" keyway, what is that ?

It's called Hot wire EDM & find it amazing what they can do with it.
Check out Youtube below, new to me, but been around awhile.

The old fashioned way is to use a broach in a press.

Brian, still in use of course, as hot wire system expensive to purchase.
A lot of machine shops mass produce with CNC machines, this is just another interesting way of doing things
