    Are you not familiar with the new fangled temperature range called Celsius I could have done it in Fahrenheit

    No Rob, I simply meant that I couldn't see the display on your thermometer.

    [Edit] Reset the brightness level on my tablet, bit readable now. Ooops.

    So your good with modern metric scales just not with tablets

    In truth when I show it on a big screen the temp is hard to see sometimes
    and I always put it down to the projector bulb colour but I think you are right
    if I did it again I'd use a different display.
    I did do it once with a probe through the bung in the water but gave up after
    the probe failed, I don't think it like being in a vacuum and in water
