    Recommendations for UK reading material

    Hey people,

Hope everyone is keeping busy and well, its been fairly quiet here at the moment with all the weather spells we have been having the start of the year.

Mainly just been doing a lot of PM's rather than breakdowns.

Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations on reading materials in the UK, I have seen a few books recommended on a few sites but it seems to mainly be USA titles which seems to boost the price if i was to purchase for reading over here.

I have signed up for the monthly ACR magazine that they send out as well as the email notifications which are interesting to read through but i didnt know if there had been any tried and tested books for reading.

    Thanks all

    Rickki,
Can you let us know what type of books exactly to narrow things down.
    I’m sure we can help.

Interested to see peoples suggestions as well.

Found this list by Loughborough University awhile back https://lorls.lboro.ac.uk/CLUMP/#1 .

Found these to be good, not heavy on the maths and not a bad level on the theory.

Electrical Machines, Drives, and Power Systems –Wildi
Thermodynamics: An Engineering Approach –Çengel, Boles
Fluid Mechanics, Fundamentals and Applications - Çengel, Cimbala

Read a number of reviews about international/European editions of the US books missing the practice questions, and pictures and graphs being poor quality.

    Hello Ranger,

Any type of book really from the workings of systems to general reading.
I'm not too fussed what it is just wanted to see what people would suggest for people to read.

I know what you mean. There isn’t many books regarding fault finding or best practices aimed towards the U.K. metric standard. Most of the books I use to read starting out was aimed at the US.
