    Running cost 5.3 kw split unit inverter



    Can anyone help what’s the running cost on a 5.3kw per hour roughley I know it depends on there electric as I have a client asking if someone could help

    You need to convert the running amps x hours used divided by 1000 into kWH (KiloWattHours). This is how the electricity companies charge.

    The way to do it is to measure your average running current (difficult on inverter splits) and multiply it by the voltage. This will give you Watts. Then multiply the Watts by the average running hours/day. This will give you KiloWattHours (kWh).

    Then multiply this by the unit rate you are paying for the electricity.

    Example:

    4.2A x 240v = 1008W
    1008W x 8hours/day /1000= 8.064kWh/day

    8.064 x £0.21 = £1.69/day

    Just substitute £ for Euros or $
