    Bitzer 6G compressor

I have a Bitzer 6G compressor with unloaders on 2 heads. My suction pressure is 2.5 Bar but when the compressor is fully loaded the crankcase pressure rises to 6 Bar.
When unloading the right hand bank of cylinders the crankcase pressure comes down to suction pressure.
To me it looks like there is a crack in one of the pistons in that bank, or the piston rings are broken.

Has anyone had issues like this with Bitzer compressors?..

    Hi Peter,

    https://www.bitzer.de/shared_media/d...n/kb-520-6.pdf

    Has it functioned correctly previously?

Possible curve ball (Check from document above, Page 13) Head Cover Markings “SU” or “CR”

    SU is Start Unload

    CR is Capacity Regulation

Mismatch of these could result in some wacky operation

    Happy tinkering

Get a gasket set and take the heads off that's the only advice I can give, for the price it's worth having a look inside.
