Disposable refrigerant cylinders in the EU

I know it maybe an old chestnut, but what are the rules on this I know about the halfords etc issue on 134a but I am talking about larger cylinders the pressed steel type ,tried to look up advice on Google but there seems to be conflicting answers ie if the disposable cylinders is made of thicker material it's just a question to ease my troubled mind as I am seeing the old thin type for sale in various places.

I think the thing is the cylinder needs to be refillable to be sold, even if you are going to chuck it away after use. The latest halfords ones i believe are returnable for a deposit supposedly to be refilled.
Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)

    .

Disposable cylinders are pressed steel and have a rounded
bottom, they come in a cardboard box and don't stand upright
on there own without the box.

They have a cheap valve on the top and from memory they have
Not to be reused stamped on them or disposable cylinder do not
    reuse.

I just press them back to a metal sheet and sell them as steel scrap once a year. The money I get pays for a cup of coffee and a cake....

Your answer is in 842/2006 (article 9 in reference to "annexe 2") and 517/2014 (article 11 in reference to "annexe 3"). ALL non refillable containers for f-gases are banned throughout the EU as from July 2007...

They are trying. If you watch them they remove ASAP as soon as they find out
also in the small print of those sites you might find they don't actually sell to the UK.

    Yes

The wholesalers have the same regulations as companies do and they have
to keep records of all gas usage for inspection by the relevant authorities.
