Operating Theatres
Hi
Does anyone no the requrements for operating theatres in regards to temperature , fresh air & filtration eg : hepa filters etc.
It has been about 15 years since we installed A/C in an operating theatre.

I've only done one for a local hospital and we just worked to the hospital spec, which was very rigid, i.e. Stainless steel air handling unit, hepa filters, pressure relief valves in the theatre walls (positive pressure in the room) etc.
Can't say I've ever read any standard specs though, only the local hospital requirements.

Is there an equivalent classification for this when compared to a cleanroom? There are some standards for these where you can reference the requirements.

hi
the air leaving the ahu must be sterelized by ultra-violet ray
also it must be 100% fresh

Before 15-16 years I was on specialisation course for medical gases in UK (BOC-Ohmeda), learned a lot but working mostly in refrigeration forget almost all
I have some documentation but it is too old and not useful today

Thanks for your help guys but after hearing a bit more as to what happened during the site visit with my partner we are going to let them know to get a consultant involved as we'd have to increase our imdemnity insurance three fold.This is one for the consulting engineers who ahve all the info and insurance.
