    Green drier cartridge

    Hello,
We replaced the drier at a freezer compound compression system. The cartridge had a light green colour. There is no additive (leak search) in the system. Before we replaced 2 expansion valves at a cabinet. The valves didnīt work proberly. There was also some green stuff at the strainers. But the system is working with no further problems. My workmates and Iīve no clue whatīs going on. The system is running since 11 years. At the beginning we had some leaks at the evaporator in the walk in freezer.

    Regards Michael

    Re: Green drier cartridge

Green is normally either dye in the system or high acid content caused by air and moisture in the system. First thing I would do is shine a uv light at the rack any dye will probably still show up at service valves or sight glasses and also carry out an acid test. There also was an issue with certain scroll compressor oil additives years ago causing a green slime to form but I don't know if it affected Europe.
