    Daikin FDYQ160LAV1

    Hi all

I'm building a new house and we are looking at this model of air con.

I can't find many reviews on this model so I am after user reviews and feedback.

So for those of you who have this model or know about it, please tell me your thoughts!

    Thanks

Hmm I always thought Daikin was a good brand, has that changed?

What's a good one now in a premium inverter?

I think it shows that whichever brand you pick there will always be detractors for one reason or another.

Some people may have installed incorrectly sized equipment which also creates a biased view.

That's a fair point and as it's a substantial investment I just want to make sure I am making a good choice!

    Daikin make great machines.
Not only are they very energy efficient and easy to use, they have a great spare parts back up.
You will always be able to get a part for your daikin if something goes faulty.
They are also in a way easier to install, with the indoor unit coming apart in 3 pieces to fit it into the roof without major building alterations.
Tech support is very helpful as well.
I am not a Daikin salesman either. I have put in thousands of ducteds of all different brands and Daikin stands above the rest in my opinion.
Sure there are some that aren't too far off but like Faultcode said. Most of the time it's the installer issue, installing an undersized unit or ductwork to come in cheaper to get the job.
Make sure you get a few quotes and ask what your getting in the way of Zones and unit size etc.

I'm in the Brisbane area, any more questions shout out.

    Cheers,
    Keza

    Thanks for the run down!

Since we are building, the builder will not allow us to go to other parties.

Some details i can give you:
    - 900 x 550 mm is the size of the return air grill in the ceiling
    - 10 Outlets in total
    - 4 Zones (Garage, Master, Living Areas and rest of the rooms)
    - Controller BRC1E62 (Can these be upgraded at a later date to the high tech ones?)
    - House is 185sqm on the slab
    - Cost of this is going to be $14,300
    - Model FDYQ160LAV1 (16KW Cooling, 18 KW heating)

How does that sound in terms of price and fit for the job?

    Cheers

    No Worries,
Controllers can be updated later but costly.
I usually do a kit like that with an air touch controller and mobile phone adapter for around $12,500
What area are you building in as prices may vary?
Also is it a 2 story house or lowest?

    Cheers,

So i managed to get this system with 4 zones and an airtouch 2 for $14300.

I think that is as good as it's going to get.
