A strange call with regard to a split a/c unit.
Hello , I received a call for an abnormal fault on a split air condition.
The customer said that his OUTDOOR split unit was infested with little flies.
The flies are crowded on the external face of the unit.
Even if he cleans the outdoor unit with water ,the flies come back and stay on the external face of the unit.
He lives in a big city and the outdoor unit is relatively clean.
Have you ever encountered something like that?

Re: A strange call with regard to a split a/c unit.
Flies are breeding nearby, dead bird/animal/food, and getting sucked into ac unit by fan perhaps.

.
Little black flies, possibly corn flies they breed in early summer and are attracted to light coulored surfaces. You get them on you if you have a light coulored tee shirt on
They are short lived and will be gone soon.
If they persist I'd recommend spraying insecticide on the surface of the outside unit and let it dry.

Hopefully there is not a nasty surprise inside like the carcass of a dead animal
