Fabrication of Cooler Tube & Shell Cooler
A factory installed with a cooler (2 sections inlet and outlet and two 2 passes)and tube leakage occured quite freqently and such tube leak stop the production line which caused big losses to the factory. The client want to replace the cooler inclusive the shell and covers and want to fabricate a new cooler and not much details is provided nor name detail tag stick on the cooler.
All measurements details taken by photos and sketches, inclusive tubesheet tube arrangement & shell but the copper tubes size .550" OD x 0.393" x 10' length such size tube not normal (unable to source for the supplying of tubes) Beside this problem the tubes have removeable aluminum 8 points shape rod inside the tube internal.
Please do help if you ever come across such cooler, could provide fabrication of such cooler or tube (ASME B111 C12200) it's great help.
Thannks and Best Regards

Re: Fabrication of Cooler Tube & Shell Cooler
I done this and will not work. Measurement you can copy oil cooler but the inside design and structure is very difficult, like the bupple plate inside you have to make sure you have the right clearance in the shell, otherwise the oil will just bypass. I recomend use PHE oil cooler.
