    what is happening with the resistance ?



    Hi my friends!
    today I encountered a problem with a domestic refrigerator.
    the problem was a lot of ice in the freezer!

    I checked the resistance and I found continuity of 0,28 Kohm.

    I suspect that resistance's ability to melt the ice to be compromised.

    Have you ever face a faulty resistance not being able to work properly,even if you find continuity?

    to be more specific, the resistance not being hot enough throughout its length.

    0.28 Kohm you quoted corresponds to approximately 190 watts. Depending on the model, defrost heaters on the domestic fridges range from 350 watts to 750 watts. Which clearly indicates to an error.

    the manufacture states that resistance's value is 190 watt. I checked the amperes with 230v power supply.

    the resistance draws 0.78 amperes.

    I also checked the temperature throughout its length for about 10 minutes on power,with a clear coil and room temperature.

    In contact with the resistance ,I received about 80 to 60 degrees of Celsius .
