    R1234yf vs r413a



    Hi all is there any chance of the usage of r413a(r49) in a r1234yf system seeing as is ludicrously expensive and all cars seem to be heading that way?
    Or is it down to oil again?
    Sorry if this has been reposted I've had a google and not getting far it seems that you can put r1234yf in a r134a system but not the other way around I was wondering with the flexibility of r413a If it was dooable?

    Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

    If a customer can afford a car on yf he can afford the gas we tested several ideas for a manufacturer and if you run 134 in a yf the comp runs approx 12 dc warmer which ain't good also u need to overcharge it as yf uses a lot less gas also most of the yf systems are using orifice cooling so I suspect refrigerant is a bit prone to getting a bit warm most yf is less than 450 grams so base cost of gas less than 50 pounds nothing near as cheap as 134 but I personally would not consider 413 it was crapp when it came out and ain't no better now ifs there is any left it would work but is it worth seizing a comp

    Also R413A is flammable... Group A2, R1234yf is group A2L.
    If not using R1234yf, maybe R134a will be better. Although the discharge temperature will be some higher...

    Hmmm I'm thinking if running 134a in a 1234 system in a no goer Car's really don't like high discharge especially as smaller cars with their 1.0ltr turbo engines etc I can see the Compressor cutting in and nearly stalling the engine! 😂

    Yea the flamable thing has been massively looked into and deemed ok for 1234yf due to quantity and likelihood can you imagine the risk assessments ahhhhhhhhh bloody risk assessments!!! 😂😂😂

    Think that's resolved now Euro bods have done some 'tests!' The future is 0-GWP
