it is not easy to suggest anything like ... do this or do that ... because we do not know anything about your production area ... what kind of equipment you have installed inside and where are the most possible leak positions ...

maybe some aerial view of your production area with position of equipment ...

Generally, you need to install inlet and exhaust fan ... but where, it is not easy to tell you now ... need some more info if available ...

Design your extraction and air change rate for a high turn over rate activated via high level detection sensors.
A good idea is to keep some trickle ventilation in place with fire alarm shut down of course.

I did design a high velocity ventilation system for a client where we used a water misting spray ring incorporated into the fan output nozzle ring to act as a knock down. As the ventilation fans had the potential to discharge into an occupied area.
I love the smell of Ammonia in the morning!

we are ice cream factory and we use ammonia for ice cream continuous freezer and hardening tunnel... etc. sometimes we face ammonia leakage and we like to remove the smell in short time

    Thank you

To be honest, I am surprised with kind of leaks you faced from time to time ... it is not usual ... maybe question of good service i.e. maintenance .... I know managers are looking to have a good and big production, but you must not forget safety ... it is easy to hurt some operators and then ...

anyhow the best is to do some kind of ventilation as described by hookster ... you know where will be the best position for inlet and outlet fans ... to run in auto mode by some ammonia sensor (nowadays it is easy to provide some good and not too expensive) or to start it manually ...

unfortunately I do not have any manual about - this matter is mostly quite specific - of course we need to follow some rules ... type of fans ... extraction capacity ... etc ...

... but I hope some member will come with some good advice...link ... whatever to help you ... here are some links where you can found something useful ...

also you can search by yourself for some good solution for your ventilation system ...

    Re: ammonia leakage ventilation

Your extract fans should be X rated ( explosion proof ) and starter equipment located outside / away from hazard area. Two levels of ammonia detection, inter connected to fire alarm evacuation system. Air extract flow rate dependent on interior space volume, your local regulations will stipulate air volume changes per minute. In addition all electrical supplies to effected area will be automatically isolated remotely with shunt trips to supply circuit breakers activated by ammonia alarm system.

    Re: ammonia leakage ventilation

kindly the air extract flow rate depend on interior space volume of production room or Lbs of refrigerant(NH3) in system?

shall we install AHU for fresh air or Wall Louver is OK?
what is the recommended pressure for production room and how we obtain that?

    Re: ammonia leakage ventilation

Is it ok to install a fan to extract air (composed of ammonia) without fan to intake fresh air ?
waiting for your reply. Thanks a lot
