19EA Motor Temperature Thermistors Causing Random Failures

    Hi,

We have been experiencing random trips on our Carrier 19EA Chillers due to the motor temperature module saying we have high motor temperature.

We do meggar and Baker testing of our motors. Has anyone dumped this old system, bypassed it and changed to using motor testing? We're taking more trips and troubleshooting drills from these failures than if we just got rid of them.

Re: 19EA Motor Temperature Thermistors Causing Random Failures

Update: We found the common lead between the two motor temperature devices with a screw loose. The screw was tightened, and the temperatures returned to normal. The unit has been returned to service.

If anyone has abandoned / removed these temperature monitors on these 19EA Carrier Units, let me know.
