    Charging Refrigerant for Daikin VRV

    Dear All,

How to charge Daikin VRV after compressor replacement ?
Close Liquid and gas stop valve , and charge from liquid pipe with required amount (or)
Do the setting for charging and charge it.

which one will be more suitable ?

    Thanks !

Found it easiest to charge in liquid line and pour hot water over bottles to get reminder in, no need to close service valves.
Don't forget to set system in evacuation mode.

    Cheers,
    Andy

If you have pulled a good vacuum on the complete system, most of the refrigerant should be drawn in to the liquid line.
If there is only a small quantity left to go in, you could start the system up and then gradually add the remainder, trying to avoid adding liquid refrigerant directly into the suction of the compressor.
If you have a larger quantity to add once the pressures have equalised, then you could always pump the remainder in using the reclaim pump.
Remember to use a drier in the line to prevent any potential contaminants from getting into the system.

If it's a daikin vrv 3 it has a charging port. Thin pipe far right. Vac the unit, charge as much as possible. Then put the unit in charge mode, it should then suck it through the charging port.
If it's a vrv 1-2 you need to charge it through the liquid line. Again put as much in as possible. The close the service port on the liquid line and then put the unit in charge mode. If u don't close the service port the unit will just cut off after about 20 seconds.
Remember to charge as a liquid.👍
