Interpretation of the term; Suction Stop

Been asked to install Suction Stop to be installed in a case. It has always meant a solenoid valve to me. can it also refer to another type of valve?

Could be a check valve (non return valve) or a shut off valve maybe?

If you Google "suction stop control" you should be presented with some Parker literature on their suction stop valves and also Sporlan used EPR valves for suction stop purposes.

Thanks guys, I did "Google it" lots of choices, end of the day I'll have to call the end used for a more clear interpretation.
Funny how specific requests aren't specifically requested.....
