Replaced the compressor. Not cooling properly.
Hi everyone,
I've replaced a compressor (R22) of a 36000BTU cassette type air conditioner. The unit is not cooling properly. The pressure of the high side is around 220 and the low side is around 70. The outdoor coil is not heating as it should be. The ambient temperature is around 95 (35) degrees and the minimum temperature of the cold air that blowing out from the indoor unit is around 77 (25) degrees. What could be the problem?
Thanks.

Re: Replaced the compressor. Not cooling properly.
Also was it the correct compressor? Correct amount of R22 added? What made the original compressor fail?
Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)

Re: Replaced the compressor. Not cooling properly.
Low pressure exceeding 70 PSI is common when starting an R22 split in 35 Deg C Ambient. You have to find the compressor Current draw with an Ammeter and compare your reading to compressor running Amps found on the Compressor sticker.
+ 10 Degrees C temperature differential at the Evaporator is common if your Air-conditioner is Short of Refrigerant. To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty.

Did you ensure you had a deep vacuum in the system before you recharged it with refrigerant?
