    Defrost calculation



    hi all,
    what is the procedure to take defrost heat into account for the calculated heat load of the room?
    I.e if 10 kW element are used what portion to be added to the load of the refrigeration plant.

    furthermore, what is the guides to specify how big the defrost elements should be

    Hello
    please add more information on what the application is related to.
    generally speaking evaporator suppliers will dictate defrost heater loads per evaporator for the application.
    Basically if you add heat for defrost you need to remove it, then there is the general heat load ,a safety factor and off cycle time and defrost governs compressor/refrigeration loads.
    From where ever use a heat calculation program for the applcation, remember rubbish inputs equals rubbish out puts so be careful how you apply data.
    If you are not familiar with process refer all information to reputable equipment supplier for assistance

    1) if the blower is equiped with 10 kW defrost element, how to caculate the load of the element into your load calc.

    2) what is the guide for sizing the defrost element for a certain coil.
