Hello can anyone help we need to install these panels vertical and the company say the connection of liquid and suction needs to be at the top I think it needs to be at the bottom we are installing 12 black panels so it needs to work correct for heat pump what is heating 9 radiators

If you have connections at the bottom how do you vent the panels?

    Manufacturer knows best.

Okay, my mistake, I did not realise that they contained refrigerant.

When we installed these I understood that the connections were at the top when installed vertical so that you didn't suck liquid down your suction. Same reason that when installed horizontally liquid bottom, suction top.
    Which make are you installing?

    .

If you are given the choice then suction would always be at the highest point,
but it depends on how the oil is returned? If the oil is trapped and passed
down the suction with the refrigerant, it would make little difference, if there
is no provision for getting the oil out of the evap, then it will rely on gravity
to an extent and positioning of the pipes would be critical.

Does the evap look like a large version of a domestic fridge evap? A pressed
Aluminium thing that is then just painted black?

If it is, then I imagine the positioning of the pipes is not that critical.

But all said and done the manufacturer should know best and if you do
not follow their instructions you might void the warranty.

Just follow the manufacturer's instructions, this will guarantee responsibility in case something goes wrong.
