    water treatment

    Hi all

I have a customer who is about to dose their circulating water with the following inhibitors

    ML-27 (Contains 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazdin-3-one)

    CLT-545 (Contains sodium nitrate)

    Antifreeze HD100

I'm not sure on mixture percentages, however seems an odd concoction to be dosing into one system? I don't have vast experience with this sort of thing but have worked around chillers for the last 10 years and never heard of this mixture being used. Has anyone else?. Could this have an adverse effect on the chiller?

    Re: water treatment

Best advise would be get a second opinion from a reliable water treatment company. If client gets it wrong will result in massive damage to HX's and pipe work.
There are different chemical treatments for closed circuit system and open circuits systems, it is a fine balance to maintain correct PH and requires constant testing. Then there s legoinella testing and spore counts, swob testing, culture testing, it goes on and on.
Best don't get involved and contract it out
