    Off site AC control

    Hi

our client requires a method of turning ON air conditioning away from site. They suffer from power outages (don't know why) and when the power comes back on the A/C won't start until someone presses the ON button. It's a hour round trip to press the ON button so they require a facility to turn on the A/C wirelessly away from site. Can anyone recommend a product?

Also does anyone know of a ECO coils supplier in uk. Dean and Woods no longer supply them and ECO won't supply me cos Electrolux who are one of their biggest customers don't like it and would prefer I buy a full new fridge.

    Thanks

    Re: Off site AC control

    Hi Kirky,

What's the make? If they are bog standard AC systems then there is normally an auto restart option in the case of a power cut. Think most makes are set up to restart as standard but seems Mitsi Electric aren't and need a bit of jiggery on the controller or cut a jumper somewhere.
Otherwise you'd need to find what external inputs the units are equipped with and send an on signal this way via a modem, manufacturers interface kit, etc.

Eco coils, don't know unless they are now part of Luvata?

    Cheers,

    Re: Off site AC control

    Hi

The units are Mitsi so don't want to play. How would you set Mitsubishi Electric to AUTO restart?

I've been in touch with Luvata who have refused to supply me with a replacement coil as Electrolux have exclusivity on all ECO coils utilised in their fridges. Electrolux have refused to supply me with a replacement as they want me to purchase a full new fridge. Bloody politics why can't we all just share?. I guess im going to have to retrofit a alternative however Dean & Woods have advised I replace the condenser also pushing the cost of the job to close on what a new fridge would cost. New fridge it is then.

Cheers for that. Turns out that when I arrived to site the unit wasn't a mitsi after all. The customer was looking at the wrong outdoor obviously didn't think to go look at the indoor doh. Anyway its a tosh which is easy push and hold temporary button on indoor for 3 secs and job done.
