    I'm onto a winner

    .

I think I have found a perfect refrigerant that ticks all the boxes.

    Cheap..................................................... check
    Environmentally sound................................ check
    Stable at most temperatures....................... check
    High critical point (374degC)....................... check
    Not toxic................................................. check
Cheap..................................................... I think I mentioned that
    Reasonably easy to obtain.......................... check
    Easy to contain........................................ check
Safety category....................................... can't find one so I think it is A1
    Fantastic specific heat properties................ check
Cheap..................................................... I think I mentioned that
    ASHRAE approval code............................... R718

Do you think I'm onto a winner?

    Chemically stable.
Purity can vary depending on the Country supplying it.
Dangerous if there is a significant leak as it displaces Air.
Suited for Cold room applications. Useless as a refrigerant in Freezer rooms.
Liquid charging only. Reckon i read the same report Rob.

    .

There are that many people flogging their snake oil,
there must be a magic solution out there, one that
does not rot your livers, corrode the system and does
not kill all the fluffy bunnies in the fields and clouds in the sky.

I'll keep looking, someone is flogging an additive that guarantees
    20% improvement in efficiency.
