The APEX controller is all canbus. You can buy carrier's usb cable but there isn't much you can't do right through the display or usbstick. I passed on the $200 cable and went for the much more reasonable $75 usb stick.

nope, carrier made sure of that. I've heard guys can rewrite blank pcmcia cards to be recognized and download or program cards but I haven't heard of anyone figuring out how to do it with the USB stick. Someone will figure it out eventually.
