    R12 vs R22

I have a friend with a small marine fridge which is on R12. Pot is gone and he has another one on R22. Question is....what changes to a cap tube length are necessary when switching over? Longer, shorter? Is there rough rule of thumb?

    Thanks Frank

BTW, it is really seldom that I can add rep points. What gives?

The system is set so that you cannot just reward say, a single person, by constantly giving that person Rep points. Multiple people can reward the same person at the same time. It's just a safeguard against misuse really. Spread the love Mike :-)

What I successfully use to find correct cappilary tube is Embraco Compressor handbook!
    http://www.embraco.com/desktopmodule...vos/mp01eg.pdf

At page 65 to 71 you have capillary sizes for various Embraco compressors and various applications.
What you need to do is to find your compressor displacement and find Embraco one with same (or nearly same) displacement and application like your one!

Thanks Nike, The Danfoss one wasn't working anyway. I could change refrigerant and a couple other things but it would not spit out any data.

This calculator works well .... sometimes!

Check your calculation with capillaries from Embraco book to see if it is plausible!
