Hot and Jam Compressor

Hi Everyone as I had obsereved that when a single phase compressor is hot and jam its resistance value doesn't remain constant,it keeps on changing.But the same resistance value changing perfoma happens when a compressor is short.So can any friend know how to check a compressor for hot-jam or short with the help of clamp meter.

I don't think you can tell the difference between a seized (hot jam?) compressor and a shorted one just with an amp meter, you can test for a shorted compressor with a megger or insulation tester.
