    Dissertation Survey.

    .

My daughter is doing her dissertation on how media affects peoples attitudes.

Would you be kind enough to complete the survey for her please.

I have been asked to instruct all who do take the survey, that they
must see it through right to the end otherwise it won't count, make
sure you click the thank you button at the end.

    Many thanks

    Rob

    Re: Dissertation Survey.

    Hi Rob.
I have completed the survey and Initially I wondered why it would not load having clicked to agree to take part.
Until I realised I had to click the Red >> box to proceed
    Must Be an age thing.
Very politically Stereo typed questions I may add!
Taking things like benefits etc. is a hugely divisive topic.
By the way It doesn't take anything like the 20mins suggested, if anyone has been put off by that.
It might do if you are indecisive!
    But otherwise Nah!

    AH!
But the purpose of the video is to influence your answers. I know it did me!

    .

    Much appreciated guys.

Apparently there are two videos one with the Kyle and
another with the equivalent of fluffy kittens and it is
    the luck of the draw.

But a big thank you from my daughter and all feedback
    is appreciated by her.

    Regards

    Rob

Sorry Rob, found the questions too one sided and poorly posed for my liking so did not complete it.

    Re: Dissertation Survey.

    Hi Rob.
Would we be able to get a summary of the findings at some time in the future.
As Brian eluded some of the questions were heavily biased and political in flavour!
However it would be nice to learn what conclusions were made and how?
    Always keen to learn!

    Re: Dissertation Survey.

    .

I have forwarded all your response and the comments made to her and she is
very encouraged by them. She is aware of the limitations of the survey
but with the information received she is now able to fine tune the survey and do
a second version to compliment the evidence generated.

I think some surveys have serious failings and they can be used to support
spurious conclusions, dependant on the purpose of the survey in the first place,
but I think my daughter has learned much more from the actual process, rather
    than the findings themselves.

It's like when we were at school and had to show the workings out of a complex
maths equation. Sometimes there are more points to be gained from the workings
than can be gained from the answer.

When she gets the conclusions I will make sure I inform you of the findings.

    Many regards and thank you.

    Rob

Funny how things work out because I was
talking to her about this and was going to add
information today or tomorrow, so you have
prompted me to do it now.

Bear in mind that this is my daughter and she tells
me nothing, so apart from the initial thanks received
from the assistance I put out last month she has
    not updated me..........................................

Kids eh, they'll talk to anyone except their parents.

The dissertation is in now and being marked and she has
done well on all her other subjects so I'm hoping for a good
    result.

As to the findings they lean towards something that is apparently
quite common in these scenarios and that is the opposite of what
    most would think.

The results show that the ones who see the happy fluffy bunny clip
tend to be stricter and more draconian than the ones who see the
    Jezza show.

It has something to do with the fact that we don't like to think we are
influenced and when we get challenged like this we tend to go opposite
of the way we should think we would go because then we can feel inwardly
    superior about not being influenced.

So in future if you are asked an opinion just remember subconsciously we might
go differently to what we think because we do not want to be seen as influenced.

Counter intuitive I suppose, we know what we think and we know what others seem
to want to know what we think and we go opposite to what we think to try and prove
    we were not influenced.

    I think................

    Regards

    Rob
