    Daikin H6 error

    Hi,

I have a Daikin ftxs35g2v1b split heat pump that suddenly stopped working today.

I have run diagnostics on it and the System shows 00 but when I cycle through the codes I get a continuous beep on the H6 code which is "outdoor compressor motor position detection sensor error"

I have checked the outdoor unit circuit board which has a flashing green LED.

Is this fatal and is my compressor hosed? Would a new compressor cost nearly as much as a new unit to replace?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

You could try switching the power off to the outdoor unit, wait 3 minutes and then turn it back on. You might be lucky and the system will reset itself. H6 is "compressor motor overcurrent sensor is abnormal."
The green flashing light on the PCB is the normal communications light indicating that the outdoor and indoor PCB's are communicating.
There is a possibility if your local A/C supplier can obtain a new compatible condensing unit that this may be cheaper than repairing the existing one. It depends if there are any compatible units still available.
You might end up having to get the replace the compressor.

Tried switching it off at the breaker for 15 minutes but no joy What sort of ballpark price am I looking for a new compressor + fitting? Or would it be cheaper to just buy a new outdoor unit and get it fitted?

From your comments, I take it that you are not an A/C engineer.
As mentioned earlier, it depends on the age of your condensing unit. If it is electronically compatible, then a new condensing unit may well be the best solution as the whole unit will then have a manufacturers warranty as opposed to just the compressor.
You local Daikin specialist should be able top advise you of the most economical solution.

    H6
    Method of
    Malfunction
    Detection
A compressor startup failure is detected by checking the compressor running condition through
    the position detection circuit.
    Conditions
􀂄 The compressor fails to start in about 15 seconds after the compressor run command signal
    is sent.
􀂄 Clearing condition: Continuous run for about 10 minutes (20/25/35/42 class) or 5 minutes
    (50 class).
􀂄 The system will be shut down if the error occurs 16 times (20/25/35/42 class) or 8 times (50
    class).
    Supposed
    Causes
    􀂄 Compressor relay cable disconnected
    􀂄 Compressor itself defective
    􀂄 Outdoor unit PCB defective
    􀂄 Stop valve closed
􀂄 Input voltage out of specification
