The biggest one in my career

    Hello to all

Commissioning and start up of Howden MK2S 510 WRVTAS 51019336 with drive motor of 3800 kW so far is the biggest one in my career.

    Some additional info:

    Refrigerant is NH3

Suction temp in evaporator 1oC i.e. 4oC at compressor suction

    Condensing temp=50oC, Condensing pressure = 21,2 kg/cm2 a

    Water cooled S&T condenser ...

Motor speed 1800 rpm ....2000 rpm is max for this compressor ...

    Design heat load Q= 11,8 Gcal/h

It is not easy to imagine the size of complete unit ....

    Best regards, Josip

    Impressive Josip.
What were your nerves like when you first turned in on?
    Just like stage fright!
Irrespective, I am always nervous when switching anything on for the first time.

    Hi Josip
I would be interested in seeing a photo of the beast.
I am like Grizzly always a bit nervous before the first start.

    Hi Josip.
definitely a massive system, pics would be good. What voltage motor was starting the beast.
I bet the first live start was an anxious moment, it is always for me.

Squirrel cage, 4 poles, 13200 V and weight about 24700 kg Hyundai Mfg.

It is normal to be anxious ... regardless of all checks ... Murphy is always around

    Hi Josip
I am impressed, and yes Murphy haunts me on occasions as well.
I can only imagine the motor drive, a large steel box with a shaft and coupling out one end, with the national grid attached. I have seen them at pulp mills and kept walking. Howden still do the best screw in my opinion. post some pics please.

5,093 Horse Power. Some serious torque there. Hope it starts and runs without any significant problems.
