Gravity condensate size on 10kw cassette.....
Hi All,
Am looking to clarify if it's ok to fit 1' 1/4" condensate connected to the standard drain attachment that comes with a Daikin cassette?
The drain will initially be fitted vertical as usual as aware that the cassettes have an internal pump fitted.
I usually abandon the attachment and fit a rubber adaptor (Pump House or Sauermann) that downsizes to 3/4" overflow without a problem but never gone straight to 1' 1/4" off the cassette. Have looked in the manual for recommended condensate pipe size but could not find anything.
Any advice or previous experiences from this would be much appreciated
Thanks

Re: Gravity condensate size on 10kw cassette.....
Can't see a problem with running it in 1 1/4" i think for fujitsu that is the recommended size anyway, though often it is reduced for cheapness and easyness of installation.
Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)

Re: Gravity condensate size on 10kw cassette.....
The only possible problem is when the internal pump stops, the amount of water that back-flows into the cassette from the initial vertical section might be sufficient to cause an overflow of the drip tray if you use 1-1/4", however this is much less likely if the vertical is 3/4".

Re: Gravity condensate size on 10kw cassette.....
on 3/4 overflow a daikin lift pump will do 760mm- calculate the volume of 3/4 overflow and compare it to 1 1/4 and that will give you your max lift - best case is to use the flexi to send the drain up and stick a 90 bend on itand ensure you get the fall of 1cm per mtr
