Compressor selection for blast freezer
Dear All,
I need suggetion to identify an 2stage reciprocating compressor(R717)for my existing blast freezer.
Room size is 7meters long 4.5meters wide and 3meters height build with 180mm insulated panels.
Exisisting compressor was Frick Tdsh 163s with 132kw motor.
Shell and tube condenser with Bac cooling tower.
Liquid vessel with Witt GP-40 Hermatic liquid pump.
Evaporator with Woods Heatproof/Aerofoil type 2 x 7kw/1475rpm/960mm diameter Unknown model.
Size of the evaporator is 380cm long x 150cm wide x 215cm height, 1inch pipe with 12 vertical rows and 24 harizontal rows.
Reason for replacement: Due to high electricity consumption and poor performense 1996 model package.

Re: Compressor selection for blast freezer
To advise you need to Know?
1)load tons in Room
2)Room temp.
3) why you want to use reciprocating compressor why not screw compressor ?
Any way if you want to use all your equipment you have ( condenser - evaporator ) , you have to use same capacity of compressor is there .
you could use sabro- mycom- or other brands .
Reason for replacement: Due to high electricity consumption and poor performense 1996 model package.
how you find it , did you compare with new system
did you checked your system and tried to improve your system

Re: Compressor selection for blast freezer
On existing plant replace all electric motors with high efficiency modern motors and save approx. 10>12% power usage, upgrade existing power factor correction system IF installed and save another 10 + % if no PF correction install one.
