Been reading up on the Refrigerant handling license for Australia again, and unless I am reading this completely wrong, I could have my RHL approved by a dentist??

Years ago we could get them from a corn flakes packet.
I took it more seriously & visited a proctologist to get mine!
He said my tonsils were fine, by the way can you sign this.

Aren't the Austrailians the ones who can't make their minds up on immigrant's statuses?

IIRC, it used to be a prerequsit that you had a criminal conviction but nowadays you are not allowed in if you got a criminal register...

Hi Tycho,

This (dentist) only refers to "certifying" your "application".

When you submit your application (to Austrialian Refrigeration Council or whoever they are) you do not mail your original documents, obviously you photocopy your relevant trade papers etc & send "copies".

You also submit passport style photographs of yourself.

This is where the "dentist" comes in - they notarise your photocopied documents & passport type photo, declaring the copies to be true (i.e not forged)

But;

Even though this article lists all these people as suitable notaries the reality is very different - if you went to your dentist & asked to notarise these papers they would look at you like you have two heads..

What you need is a "Justice of The Peace" or "JP", simple - no.

It is easier to find unicorn poo than it is to find a "JP"

Basically you need to ask everybody you meet (wear a great big plackard down the street) "Do you know a JP?"

Eventually you will track one down, probabably someone's friends uncles next doors neighbours piano teacher...

Or, sometimes community centres or shopping centres will have a JP booth - at a shopping centre near me (every Saturday morning) a JP sits at a desk near Donut King, the que is like the check in counter at the airport...

New Zealand is the back door, anyone can go there, as most of them are here.
Once you get your residency, come on over, door is open, no visa, nothing.
(that's what it seems like anyway).

I wish we had the same restrictions oz has! Think it's the UK that has gone mad we let people in pay them then a minority of them want to kill all of us?
