Best place to install air conditioner in the living room?

    Hi,

I'm new to this forum and would like to get some advice.
Considering to get Daikin FTXG35LS Emura for my living room and have couple of questions:

    1. Is FTXG35LS powerful enough for the room of this size?

    2. From the plan below position "1" for the indoor unit is much easier in terms of installation but I would like to think that position "2" is better placed for a correct air flow.
    Is position "1" is acceptable?
Or will the unit perform significantly better if it was fitted in position "2"?

    * only one indoor unit will be fitted
** it will be mainly used for heating therefore I am not very concerned about cooling performance.

    .

7mtr is quite a distance for a wall mount.

You might find that it causes a draft or a cold
area as the heat moves through the room.

I'm not sure of the spec for Daikin but they will
give information as to the maximum distance the
air will travel from the wall mount, if it is is within
this, I can't see there being an issue.

A central location makes obvious sense but we all
make compromises and for the most part, the system
will tolerate a little bit of difference because the manufacturers
know that no 2 system will never be the same.

Something you might need to consider is the distance from
the indoor of system 1 to the outdoor unit.
Again Im not sure with Daikin but most AC systems need a
minimum of 3 mtr distance. Make sure the outdoor unit is
the minimum distance away from the indoor.

you want the ac ideally over the sofa- so it controls the temperature in the most occupied area, heat will mix with the cooler air at the dining table, bear in mind in heating mode the louvres will drop so it needs mounting high up, ideally 75mm from ceiling,
the louvres will have vertical blades to sweep the air, some units they are fixed but they are motorised to swing left,right- if your spending money on a quality unit, then might be worth looking at the mitsubishi electric units
MSZ-FH35VE as they have good air throw- also this one has a moving pir to detect occupancy

Thank you very much for your replies.
Still trying to make a decision. Position 2 has definite advantages in theory but saying that the room is not too big and contractor has advised me that in position 1 it will still provide even heat throughout the room.
I also like the fact that I won't have the unit generating noise above my head while watching TV so currently leaning more towards the options 1.
