How to verify Cooling capacity of Chillers

    Dear friends ,

May I have your views that how to calculate or verify cooling capacity /tonnage of a water chiller ?
I can have only temp difference of chilled water (at part load and full load if available) and no mass flow rate measurement /value is available as such now .

    Please guide me .

This just a recirculating chiller for AC duty or??
You won't get far without the water flow rate but you can get close to that if you can find a pump curve and measure the pressure difference for the pump....Pump RPM also needs to be known.

Alternatively: you can measure the chiller motor current at load and work backwards from the chiller's performance data.....

What part do you suspect might be wrong?

The chiller manufactures publish data will give pressure drop across evaporator at a given water flow rate.

its just Delta T (K) x Flow rate (l/s) x specific heat capacity of the medium (4 for rough) this will give you kW

    to get right capacity .
find the type of compressor and then from out let water you can find evaporator temp. and from that you could find right capacity of your chiller .
