    Air Conditioning Courses

    Hello

I am currently designing air conditioning systems for military vehicles. I live in the UK and have completed my CITB training but have been looking for some more advanced courses in the design and also the servicing of air conditioning systems. Can anyone help me with this issue?

    Steve

    Re: Air Conditioning Courses

Hi Steve and welcome to the forum.

I don't know what level CITB training finishes at but the natural progression through college would be RVQ level 1, NVQ level 2, NVQ level 3, HNC, HND, Degree.

The design aspect of the job starts in NVQ level 3 and continues through the next 3 levels.

With regard to servicing training then I would recommend that you contact various equipment suppliers, i.e. Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Daikin etc as these all do product specific training.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Air Conditioning Courses

The CITB training was a 3 day course at a company called Ariazone. It involved the basics of air conditioning up to the installation of a system (including evacuation, charging etc..). This has proved useful to me as i have been currently installing and commissisioning several of our systems over the past month, but now I want to try and improve our initial design, thus improving the system. My boss is now happy to send my team on a 2-3 day course to improve our knowledge of the system, but I have struggled finding a suitable course.

    Hi Steve.

I wish it was as easy as a 2/3 day course.

I've been doing it now for more years than I care to remember and I'm still learning

    Re: Air Conditioning Courses

I'm learning that by the day that it's only experience that counts. Learnt a hell of a lot more in the last couple of months working out installing systems than i took from the brief course i attended. But i was looking for something that would head me in the right direction.

Try a few books the A/C you have is specialised, and probably just beyond your design capabilities at present, better to learn the basics and design a few basic systems first.
Dossats Principles of Refrigeration is a good book.

    Kind Regards. Andy.

PS you post would be better under A/C.

    Chin up

    Kind Regards. Andy
