    refnet joint reducer

Hi guys, installing a 14kw daikin RZQG140L7V1 , itis one outdoor and twin indoor each 7kw. my question is not about the positioning, my question is : do i need to reduce 5/8 or not, i mean i enter from outdoor with 5/8 to refnet, do i use 5/8 from the refnet to coolers or do i need to reduce the pipe size? same for liquid line? if i do not reduce the refnet becomes evap due to pressure drop at the joint.
    any help will be appriciated
    Sork

whatever pipe size is on the outdoor - run that size to your refnet/branch, then for a 7 kw daikin, should be 5/8 3/8 from each branch to each indoor- branch should be ideally equal lengths on each branch- and also have a max of 15mtr total on the branches

    5/8 3/8 (15mm ,10mm pipework on outdoor too)

    Well said Monkey...
And don't forget to only wire the BRC controller to 1of the indoor fan coils otherwise you will get an error.

Thanks Monk, greatly appriciated, only limited hours i can be on the site. i only need to keep the distance of the coolers to refnet equal, this is simple enough; then, after the joint i follow the evaporators inlet pipe size.

    Re: refnet joint reducer

i have checked the coolers pipe, as you said rightly, it is 5/8 and 3/8 so i connect the refnet 8 metres to each cooler with 5/8 and 3/8 . i have not yet seen the outdoor pipe size. my question is if that is 5/8 and 3/8 same as coolers, from condensing unit to refnet, would not there be a pressure drop? or maybe pipe size of the condensing unit is larger!

    Re: refnet joint reducer

the manual states 5/8 3/8 on the outdoor, all daikin 410 units from 7kw upwards are 5/8 3/8 - so it seems strange but trust me it works,

    Re: refnet joint reducer

you mean i connect to refnet 5/8 and 3/8 from the condenser? then from refnet to coolers on 5/8 and 3/8 as well? so you think there will be no pressure drop in the refnet? if i keep the distance from the refnet to the cooles the same length?

Also make sure that you mount the refnet correctly.

yes horizantal or vertical, in this case twin 7kw coolers , there are no reduction in pipe size enter 5/8 from the condensing unit; leave 5/8 same for discharge line on 3/8. approximatly same distance from the refnet to coolers.
