    HOWDEN, HUMMINGBIRD 127 Manual

    Hi There,
I need to overhaul an old Hummingbird 127 compressor and was wondering if anyone out there could help me with a manual on it.

    Regards,
    Peter

Peter, anyone who worked for Austcold 15 years ago would have it embedded in their brain.
We had a crap plant with them on ammonia, would not last more than 10000 hrs.
Client needs to replace it with something new & reliable.
Story was they were designed for bus air on.

    hehee...Thanks Ranger1,

Yea... That's me. 20 years now with them and still going.

Its imbedded in my brain but I need to send off something to a client and trying to avoid drawing up diagrams for them for them to overhaul it.

Just trying my luck. Hopefully someone might have one...

Sorry, I cannot help, (this is my first time to hear about this type of compressor), but ... why not ask Howden for help ...

    josip,
I believe they were named incorrectly SCREAMING BIRD would have been more appropriate.
They were probably made by some affiliate company of theirs.
They had needle roller bearings, not roller bearings, cheap & nasty.

    Hi Peter
I am well, haven't heard from you for a while.
I must admit I hadn't heard of a Hummingbird, but then again I only worked for Howden for a few years not like you.
From what Ranger says they are worse then XRV's.

thanks for clarification, all clear now ... that's maybe the main reason to construct XRV ...
