Have 4 AERO DX Coils that we installed a few years ago for ammonia a design problem occurred when ordering the coils and have been dealing with it ever since. The tube Dia is to large and the coils Brine a lot. The suction line comes out of the bottom of the coil and runs vertically up to the roof about 4 meters. Can these coils become oil logged and what would be a good way to check if this is the case there is no service drain v/v on the coil

Why are you suspecting that the coils are oil logged? Oil migration is a common thing in plants. Your installation should be able to facilitate oil return back to the compressors. Should there be any reason why your coils are not allowing oil to return to the compressor you should take remedial action like installing oil return lines, or oil drain valves. Oil traps should be installed.
