What multimeter should I get?
Alrite lads,
After a near miss 2day with my ****ty kewtech multimeter I'm goin to get a new 1!
I was testing a H&V panel and It was only displaying 20-30v AC I used my volt stick which was beeping like mad, then tried my clamp meter which displayed the correct voltage!
Balls to that time for a new1
Cheers andy

get to RS- and get ur boss to fund it- also must have fused test leads too
might be an idea to get one with auto range and voltage detection

Re: What multimeter should I get?
Fluke is good. I have used it for years now. its always reliable. there are other brands which are good and up to the task as well.

Re: What multimeter should I get?
I have a 30 year old Fluke 8020A, and a Fluke 89 and a TPI with the jaws. All are good but I use them for different tasks. I like the fluke the best.

Re: What multimeter should I get?
Fluke all the way
I've had mine for 15 years, it's beat up as hell but still works
In those years, two times have I lent it to another technician, first time the guy managed to blow the fuse on the 4-20 mA and somehow crashed the whole thing and had to send it in for repairs, second time another guy left it on the rear bumper of his car and it fell into the grass on our parking lot where it spent a weekend in the rain, still works like a charm
