Air Con in a kitchen area

I work in Spain where everyone seems to know the law viewed from a bar stool. I've been asked by a small restaurant to take a split system out of their kitchen area because they have been told it against the law. I just can't find this rule anywhere. Could anyone shed any light on it ?

They would have to have the order in writing otherwise it's hearsay.

Although I love working in Spain, the laws are a bit open to interpretation. I'm assuming it may be down a European law and just wondering what the law is in the UK.

I've come across a good few AC units in kitchens. Mitsubishi Electric sell a stainless steel under ceiling unit for kitchens.

Thanks Neddy, it sounds like it should be ok. Its only a small kitchen. I'll have a look at the Mitsubishi website.
