    Adsorption Chiller



    Hi Every body
    I have problems with finding informations about efficiency of simple adsorption refrigirator. i want to find COP Depending on heat resource (sun). Where of how could i find on net? i have no success till now?

    I forget to say that cooling power should be around 200kW. I need this for research that why is so specific...

    there is no future in absorption chillers as a cost effective chill system.

    I do not know that yet, since i am working on a research about different kind of self sufficient cooling system for my degree. That is why i need the information and i would be grateful to get it.

    I have to disagree Magoo, here in the UK we cant sell them fast enough, with tax breaks and the trend for CHP the demand is getting forever greater for these machines, I spend 60% of my time working on these units now compared to 20% two years ago the COP on them is actually terrible but if the site has cheap/free heat to supply the unit running costs are minimal, most pull 5amps at full load, compare that to a screw chiller and your quids in, however when it comes to maintenance costs, well thats another story all together

    I think the man said ADsorption, not absorption. I've done some work on these and the only power needed is the pumps and a source of heat around 85+C to drive it. Typical COP of .7 if memory serves as it has been a few years.

    Ja i now how it looks like in general, but i need exact information about existed device. I ll gona try to ask some factory who provide aDsorption chillers and really hope to get some answers, but this is my last chanse. So that is why i asked you guys.

    The COP of a typical absorption refrigerator will not be above 30%. For your information, one of my model is 23.4%.

    Very good Frank, it confirmed my memory of COP being sub 0.7 but remember that this is including all energy sources. No external power to take into account.
