i d like choose the right city and guilds

Hi everyone,i m new in the forum.
I come from italy,where i studied and achieved a diploma(electronics).
In italy i worked as refrigeration engineer,i started as trainee until i learnt how to do the job.
Now i d like continue the carrer here,but i have no clear where i have to start.
I found on city and guilds 5 different courses:
2079;6087;6187;7189;6127

What do u suggest me to attend?

2079 is refrigerant handling that you will need. There's no real industry standard for qualifications that I'm aware but most employers require nvq level 2 as a minimum.

As said by Jonjon the 2079 is a refrigerant handling qualification and
is the only mandatory qualification for fridge in the UK.
If you know what you are doing, you would be able to complete it
in 3 days but if you need training then that could be done over 5 days
or even longer.

So i need achieve the 2079 course.
What means nvq level2?

In adult education we grade the qualifications in levels, level 1 is the
first all the way up to a level 7 (I think) maybe level 8.

To achieve a proper level 2 it would require a part time college course
over 2 years and you would do exams, practical assessments and observations.

A 3 year apprenticeship would lead towards a level 3.

In the UK the level 3 qualification is the one that gives the apprentice the
qualifications to work unsupervised. In the UK a young adult would not
be left to work unsupervised until he (she) gained a level 3 (but in real terms
that is not always the case).

As for the 6087, 6187, 7189 and 6127:-

the 6087 has been superseded by the 6187
the 6127 is the knowledge side to 6087 so is now out of date
the 6187 is the new NVQ qualification
the 7189 is a newer diplomer.

NVQ in the UK is National Vocational Qualification and it is a work
based qualification that you can only fully complete if you are working
in the discipline you are studying.

The diploma is mainly a college based qualification that does not necessarily
need the student to be working to gain the qualification.
