Unhappy OPTIONS on Samsung inverter splits. What are they supposed to do?

I don't fully understand what the options (reset?) on the Samsung inverter split units supposed to do? Can anyone explain how this re=programming works?

    OK,
Lots of confusion with the option codes on the Samsung units.
In real life there are 2 different set of codes. The first one is the installation option code, this is where you set site specific options like: high ceiling, temperature offsets, external static pressures, use of external contacts and so on. This only needs to be set during commissioning or when something about the installation changes, like window interlock switches being added.

The second code is the product option code, this you only need to set after you replaced the PCA (Printed Circuit Assembly, Samsung language for PCB). Just like most other manufacturers, Samsung are using the same replacement parts for a wide range of their units and you need to tell the PCA what unit it is fitted in. Like on the Daikins you need a plug in resistor/diode dongle after you changed the PCB, on the Mitsus there are dip switches to be set, on the Samsungs you set the product option code.

So re-programming? No, not unless something changed or been replaced.
