Mitsubishi Fan confirmation

Hello -

I am a home owner with the follow Mitsubishi City Multi system:

PDFY-P24NMU-E - indoor unit
pumy-p48nhm - outdoor unit
PAR-31MAA - thermostat

I have been informed that the fans will slow down when the set temp/point is reached in heating but that the fans will only run full when in cooling mode and not slow down. I was hoping that someone could confirm this is the correct way it should function?

Would a different thermostat allow control over the fans making them slow down when temperature is reached in cooling mode? It's very annoying having them blowing continuously. It seems strange to me that it would do this in heating mode but not cooling mode.

its to prevent cold draughts- check the indoor pcb- there might be a spare fan plug- its unswitched, so will run constantly- dont know if it will stop when turned off on the controller- isolate your power supply first

my bad - thought it was a mr slim- if you have the remote controller in the room with the ac then set dipswitch sw1 no1 to on- sense air from remote controller thermistor
also 2 other dipswitches on sw 1 -7 and 8

My sw1 7-8 were set to of. I changed them but unfortunately hasn't made any difference.

did you power it down and back on again?- sw 1,1 can be switched with the unit powered all others need rebooting, make sure the switch clicks when moved

I just tried it again and this time powered off and on but hasn't changed. The compressor has stopped when set temp is reached in cooling mode but the fans are still on full (or whatever fan setting on thermostat).

Currently all switches on SW1 are on except no. 2

To Jamjuice:
Do you know that the black square indicates a switch position (on the table of DIP-SW positions)?.
See a table bellow if you want to stop of indoor unit fan in cooling thermo-off mode.

Ok.
If you will change to "stop" fan speed in the cooling mode and/or heating mode => you must be do also of following:
(a) change SW1-1 to ON (if remote controller/thermostat is installed in your room and feel the room temperature);
or
(b) use option "Remote Sensor PAC-SE41TS-E" for wall mount in the room;

Because if the fan of IU (indoor unit) is stoped - temperature sensor (inside of the IU) does not feel the actual room temperature.

2 - OFF
3 - OFF

Have you tried combination of DIP-SW: SW3-1=ON / SW1-7=ON / SW1-8=ON ?
The result is as you wished?

Hi Denni,

After seeing your initial post I did try that but it didn't seem to make any difference after than being unable to change the fan speed from the thermostat.
