    RSIR compressors

    Hi all,
    Just a quick brain pick.
Noticed a few chinese cabinets with "embraco" or "tecumseh" comps, which after a few weeks operation are having starting issues.
These are all 1/3 to 1/4 hp comps with RSIR start gear. Was wondering what issues i may find if I replaced start gear to CSIR.
At present the anti short cycle delay of 5 minutes I usually set helps, but even still - these are commercial use cabinets.
    Any thoughts?????????

just love the joy of dealing with cheap chinese crap.
only 250 screws to access the evap.
Cabinets perform ok when pulling down, just cant handle starting again.

    Re: RSIR compressors

Have noted difference between embraco RSIR and CSIR comps is different start winding resistances.
Eg: R134a 8cc RSIR has a winding of 42ohm the same size comp but CSIR has a start winding of 30ohm.
Anyone ever tried to fit the gear off a CSIR comp to a RSIR comp and had it last more than 5 minutes????
    Might be a little project.....
