split ac unit different capacity value
Hi
how r u guys
im confused about the info on the name plate of different split ac unit
as example when u check the heating and cooling capacity u will find the cooling is 6740 watt
and heating is 7320 watt
also u can check in other split ac unit that the current
are different or same in cooling or heating
what is the reasonLast edited by kefah; 04-04-2014 at 11:46 PM.

Re: split ac unit different capacity value
OK,
If we go back to fundamentals, the heat output from the condensor=the cooling duty of the evaporator + the heat added by the compressor.
Therefore the the capacity in heating mode will be higher than the capacity in cooling mode (heat=cooling+compressor).
In modern A/C systems, in order to optimise performance, the discharge pressure is elevated during the heating cycle. Higher pressure = higher temperature.
If you look at the spec of a compressor you will see that higher discharge pressure=higher current draw.
Clear as murky waters!

Re: split ac unit different capacity value
ok
thank u for the detailed explain
i red in the college some of what u mentioned
ok
why in some mini split heat pump unit the current for heating is lower than in cooling
as example

Re: split ac unit different capacity value
As they have chosen to keep the duties the same in both modes they will be able to run the compressor at a reduced duty whilst in heating mode. (If we follow the same principle as above)
